Job Title: Technical Writer

Location: 100 % Remote - Support EST time zone

Duration: 11 Months contract (Strong possibility of conversion to perm)

Job Description:


Principal Responsibilities

  • 80% of time – Systematic building of formulas, procedures, and specifications in the Optiva PLM system as required to ensure that products can be manufactured properly and according to specifications and can integrate with SAP & RMS plant floor systems.
  • 20% of time – Work collaboratively with PDM Manager and Scientists on multiple product commercialization projects, independently manage (or manage with support as needed) all product documentation requirements needed to meet project timelines. Work closely with manager to adjust priorities and workload as needed to meet commercialization timeline commitments.
  • Prior OPTIVA systems experience is a huge plus, but if they have worked in a recipe management system, or SAP and that will work for this role
  • Preferrable at least 2 years of experience in the food science industry, either in Quality or PD - open to the role - they get ppl from diff parts and still applicable. This is a niche role so open to backgrounds –

DATA in the food industry is the top preference!

This role also uses MS Office - Word, Excel - basic to intermediate skills needed

40 hours a week - some flex w the hours: 7-4 pm, or 8-5 pm - 100% remote

Create operating instructions, how-to manuals, assembly instructions to help technical support staff, consumers, and other users within a company or an industry. Gather information through research, statistical reports, and interviews with technical staff. Translate business specifications into user documentation. Create document flow diagrams; and develop and maintain user-training materials. Excellent technical writing skills and ability to review technical documents for grammar, content and style of writing. Demonstrated ability to document business processes and write detailed functional requirements. Ability to work under tight timeframes. Good organizational skills. Degree in a related area
